IMPORTANT! The bid tab program library was updated 4-21-2005. This update is necessary to plug bid files for the April 2005 letting and thereafter. This was due to a change in computer systems by VDOT. Follow the instructions in the paragraph above.

Listed below are updates to the Bid Tabs Software. Read description and click on the file to download! Then click save file and send to the TAB folder. The file downloaded will be a self extracting Winzip file. Using explorer or the method of your choice click on the .exe file to extract the files. Then select monthly update from the FILE menu selection to update your data base with this month's letting.

tab2000 This is a program update for the VA tabs. It will convert the data base to a 4 digit year so 2000 tabs can be sorted correctly. Before adding the 01-2000 letting below you must do the following:

1- Make sure your data base is up to date thru 12-99. You cannot go back and add lettings prior to 2000 after the 2000 conversion.

2- download tab2000 and unzip to the tab\tab-va directory. This is set up as the default on the unzip.

3- Click on the VA TAb icon. Choose file, 2000 conversion. The files will convert. The counts will vary depending on how many years on tab data is present in the data base. Note, this will temporarily double your space requirements for the TAB directory. This could take up to an hour on some machines.

4- The system does not automatically delete the old files. After the conversion, click on file, Delete pre-200 files. Copy down this list of files and use windows explorer to delete them from the tab directory. Do not delete the files ending with .new

4- Download the Jan of 2000 letting and update in the usual way.

tabfix This is a program fix which allows for the updating of jobs with duplicate call numbers. It corrects the above discrepancy in the in and out count for jobs (59 vs 35). After downloading and installing this program, rerun the monthly update from your tab-menu for Nov 98. (do not reload the disk). All out counts should be zero, except for jobs, which should be 24.
